2020 Reflection

2020 was a year for many as one of the worst in history. There were so many people looking forward to 2020 as one of the best years ever. Not to mention it was the start of a new decade. Even I was looking for the best in 2020. Unfortunately not everything goes to plan sometimes.

One of the first things to happen in 2020 would put many in shock. The shocking case of Harvey Weinstein. I learned about this in social studies class as my classmate Ishan Sharma had informed me of it. I am a pretty big movie fan and know a lot of classics and I recognized the name pretty fast as he had directed Good Will Hunting and Inglorious Bastards. But at the end of the day It didn't leave a huge impact on me.

The next set of events were more disappointing then a shock. The death of Gorge Floyd. George Perry Floyd Jr. was an African American man killed during an arrest after a store clerk alleged he had passed a counterfeit $20 bill in Minneapolis. One of the police had left his leg on gorge floyds neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. It is all on camera. This news made me sad because some police are painting the entire organization as killers. When I saw the video it made me mad and sad. I saw people shouting at the officer to stop with no response. I saw the other 3 officers becoming bystanders and not helping ether.

Next came the riots, the riots were for Gorge Floyd. The thing was the riots were very violent more than a peaceful protest. Cras were set on fire, Windows were smashed, and places were looted. I was actually scared because I was getting ready to fight because I thought People were going to come loot everywhere and attack our homes. Lucky that didn't happen and there were mostly peaceful protests in State College.

The next event could have been the most scary out of all and it was that the tensions with Iran were all time high. After the former president of America Donald  Trump sent out an attack odor that killed one of the top generals of Iran. It nearly started WW3 and I can tell you I was the most scared at this time. I would be able to defend myself at all if they dropped a nuke near State College. Everywhere would be destroyed and it would be a nuclear disaster that would most likely send us to the stone age.

Another sad event is the death of Kobe Bryant and Chadwick Boesman. These two were legendary idols to not just the black community but to everyone. Kobe was also a legendary NBA player and Chadwick boesman was a Legendary actor who played as the Black Panther as his most iconic character. The death of both were very very heartbreaking to just about everyone

The next event caused a lot of tragedies. It was the Australian wildfires. This was a terrible event for Australia. It caused so many terrible animal deaths. Up to 1 billion animals were killed. It is also kinda an awranse check to global warming. It is one of the most dangerous problems in the world. The world would most likely end in this way.

The last one is the bg gun of the group, Covid 19. This is a worldwide pandemic that has been going longer than a full year. It has taken millions of lives. It has shut down industries, it has shut down the entire world. It also impacted me because I am a very social person and I get bored super fast. I really hate online school because I get distracted at home and my grades aren't just the same as in person learning. Covid 19 has ruined lives for others in the same way for me. It has made people more insecure about how they feel and how they act. 2020 In a reflection is and will be a total disaster. I just hope 2021 will be far better than this year.
